Therapy for all of you

Individual therapy can be genuinely useful — but not in a vague “talking helps” way. It works because it changes how you relate to your thoughts, emotions, and patterns over time.

Most people move through life reacting quickly — based on habit, past experiences, or self-protective patterns.

Therapy is a safe, structured space where those reactions get unpacked. You start to see why you feel what you feel and how certain patterns keep repeating.

At Green Fig, we offer individual therapy that centers your whole person, builds self-leadership and self-trust, and provides you with real tools to navigate life’s challenges.

Therapy for becoming more fully you

Therapy at Green Fig is a space where you can come exactly as you are, sharing your thoughts, feelings, challenges.  It’s one of the few places where someone is tracking your goals, your patterns, and your growth with you — without an agenda beyond your wellbeing.

This collaborative and non-judgmental exploration allows room for you to become more fully you and to live with greater authenticity.

Therapy for finding choice

Most people adapt to their environments in ways they learned early on.  People-pleasing, performing, staying small, staying in control, avoiding conflict — these patterns started from an adaptive response to keep you safe, but may no longer serve you.

At Green Fig we help you see, “This is something I learned to do,” rather than “This is who I am.”

That distinction creates room for choice.

Common reasons people come to therapy

People often come to therapy because something in their life feels unmanageable, stuck, or painful.

There might be a clear problem like:

  • you have a hard time advocating for your needs or knowing what you want

  • you feel overwhelmed, constantly overthink things, or doubt yourself

  • you’re held back by low self-esteem

  • you tired of the ways you numb out (scrolling, sex, food, shopping, drugs, alcohol)

  • you want more satisfying relationship(s)

  • you’re in a life change — graduating, switching jobs, moving, going through a mid-life shift

  • you’ve had a loss and are grieving

  • you’re questioning your roles, identity, purpose, or values

  • you’re feeling a lot of big emotions

Sometimes there’s no single thing, you may just have a quieter sense that something isn’t right despite things looking “fine” on the outside.

Therapy offers a space to recognize your patterns, understand what’s underneath these experiences, and develop more flexible, grounded ways of relating to yourself and others.

Benefits of individual therapy

You deserve a place to be seen and heard.   Therapy is a safe, nurturing home base where you can explore who you are and who you want to be.

In therapy, you can:

  • have someone who truly listens to you

  • understand your emotions, instead of feeling controlled by them

  • discover what you’re longing for

  • improve your relationships — by communicating better, setting boundaries, and releasing unhelpful patterns

  • feel calmer

  • connect with deeper meaning in your life

  • experience more self-esteem and self-confidence

At Green Fig, we provide a judgment-free space for you to unload the things that have been weighing you down and bring attention to what’s uniquely important to you.

  • Delivering therapy requires clinical training and is focused on emotional healing and repair, mental health support, treatment planning, and sometimes, diagnosis or collaboration with other healthcare providers such as psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, or other healers.

In therapy, we may explore family of origin issues, attachment and other types of trauma, life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and more.  Therapy is open-ended and can be used to address short or long term challenges
